things i've learned in the past month

1.
glance up, then back down.
i'm not sure what i was expecting,
but you weren't it.
i can't say i'm complaining about this.

2.
it's a good thing i don't care for butterflies
because they've all flown away
and met up with the galaxies
your mind comes from

3.
i can see
universes in your eyes
and i don't think there's quite an end to them
but that's what makes space so interesting, right?

4.
it's not hard to believe-
i don't like thinking about love.
i don't care for writing about it.
i don't even think i believe in it all that much-
and yet, here you stand,
challenging everything i thought i knew
like the shattering of my foundation
was nothing but a crack in the sidewalk for your bounds
into my life,
you happy-go-lucky giant.
